Fading Roses

Created live during my exhibition at La Bottega, Belfast, Fading Roses captures the warmth, colour and atmosphere of a summer aperitivo evening. Painted in front of guests and passers-by, the work carries the energy of its creation while remaining soft, elegant and understated.
Inspired by golden-hour light, Aperol Spritz, conversation and the gentle rhythm of the city, I worked in my signature palette of blue, yellow, black and white before introducing delicate blush pinks and a luminous veil of soft neon pastel. The result feels both contemporary and romantic, with a subtle glow that shifts beautifully in changing light.
Part of my evolving collection of Loose Landscapes and Still Life works, Fading Roses celebrates those fleeting moments that linger long after the evening has passed.
A striking statement piece, it would sit beautifully in a large white frame or, for a more contemporary finish, a blush-pink or peach-toned tray frame.
