From my Belfast studio
I began painting at seven after my dad passed away. My work lives in the liminal space between grief and joy. Each painting’s title holds a story, with room for you to bring your own.

Inspired by childhood memories of two tin cans connected by string, Can You Hear Me From Here? explores sound, silence and the things we say to one another.
Flashes of pink travel across raw linen like sound waves, interrupted by handwritten words that almost disappear into the surface.
An attempt to paint silence in colour, leaving space for the viewer to bring their own memories and stories.

She’s Golden

Created for my SHE collection, She’s Golden is a celebration of the quiet strength that so many women carry.
There comes a point, often in our forties, when life has shaped us through love, loss, motherhood, work, disappointment and joy. We begin to let go of the need to prove ourselves and step more fully into who we already are. This painting was made for that woman.
Built from layers of wall paint, acrylic, oil and expressive mark-making, the surface holds its own history. A fine dusting of gold powder catches the light, revealing itself differently as you move around the painting. Rather than symbolising perfection, the gold represents resilience — the beauty that appears after life has tested us.
Like much of my work, this painting balances energy with softness. It celebrates women who continue to choose hope, who lead with compassion and who understand that confidence isn’t always loud. Sometimes it is simply the quiet decision to keep becoming.

Painted after one of our sons was given a diagnosis we had been waiting a long time for. It symbolises relief, hope, expression and a desire to remove old wood.
A vast canvas that dances in soft, sweeping marks. It is sincere and inquisitive, asking the viewer to bring their own story to its scale, movement and open spaces.
