A crusty exterior and doughy inside this painting was made after a recent trip to France with my husband and our boys. Sadly one of our son’s is coeliac so we didn’t indulge in the usual “thrown together lunch” of crusty loaf baguettes and cold meats with cheese. This painting is a dream of those times alongside a strong primary colour palette. Thick oil and demanding sections reflective of the french style of life that we encountered outside of Biarritz- direct and precise. Unlike my neon paintings this series of French paintings have little to no drips or transparency in the paint.
