Lemon Cheesecake with Blueberry Compote
Acrylic on canvas
210 × 140 cm
As sweet as icing sugar, this painting carries all the flavour of a Sunday dessert.
My work is deeply rooted in grief. I lost my father at the age of seven and later discovered that I live with the same inherited heart condition that shaped his life. Painting has become a way of holding grief and joy in the same body — and in the same hands.
Bring your own memory of a simple Sunday carvery followed by an explosion of flavour, or allow your sadness to have a place on the canvas too. This painting is an open invitation to let colour, feeling and fun into your home.
Original acrylic painting by Belfast artist Aly Harte. One of a kind.
